Overview
A small, well-kept island in the Stockholm archipelago: pine and birch, granite outcrops, a timber house in the traditional style and a sauna at the water’s edge. Used in summer by the current owners and habitable in winter with some preparation.
Access
Ninety minutes by boat from central Stockholm, less from the nearer mainland harbours. There is no bridge; the island is reached by private boat or by the scheduled archipelago services to a neighbouring island, then a short transfer.
Buildings and infrastructure
- Main house: four bedrooms, kitchen, living room with wood stove
- Guest cabin and a boat house
- Wood-fired sauna and a changing room at the jetty
- Mains power by submarine cable, drilled well, approved septic
- Jetty with moorings for two boats
Ownership and constraints
Freehold title, registered. Shoreline protection rules in Sweden restrict new construction close to the water; any extension should be checked with the municipality first. The property has been used as a summer residence and a buyer intending year-round occupation should confirm winter access and insulation.
Our view
An unusual combination of genuine privacy and practical proximity to a European capital. Priced at a fraction of a tropical island with far lower running costs — but the season is short and the buyer should be honest with themselves about how much of the year they will actually use it.
